gas light won't turn off after adding dash leds
So tonight i installed some super cool white leds in my gauge cluster, but soon after immediately noticed the gas light was on.
i read up somewhat and saw it was a issue that could happen, but i don't really understand what to do now.
i tried to unplug the light that i thought it was, but that just ended up not doing anything.
how can i turn it off or disable it so it won't annoy me?
thanks!

If I'm not mistaken the gas light is separate from the other bulbs correct? Meaning it has its own little bulb just for the low gas symbol?
If that's the case I'd just leave the stock halogen in there. Not really any benefit to having an LED in there. Again I could be wrong about it being seperate but I've swapped over to red LEDs and haven't had an issue

I only replaced the four main dash leds, none of the smaller ones, so i figured it wouldn't be a problem
i just don't know which bulb the gas one is so i can troubleshoot

Take a look at this thread for lots of good info on the gauge lights.
The only dash bulb that I have heard of causing problems when swapped to LED is the battery light. It's possible others cause issues, but if you didn't swap the low fuel light, then I don't see how any of the other dash lights would be causing you problems. I do wonder though since you indicate you replaced 4 main dash LED's, but there are actually only 3, so what was the fourth one that you swapped? And just so the question has been asked, have you actually filled your tank so you know you aren't actually just low on fuel?

yeah, i didn't think i changed it.

this is what i followed, it seemed okay to me, but i didn't know there were only three.
my tank is just about half full, my gauge seems to work just fine, so I don't think it's that
i know i replaced a light with no green silicone cover thing on it, and i'm starting to think it may have been the gas one, but i'm not 100% sure.

In that video, it looks like he does pull out the fuel bulb and say that you might be able to replace that one too. It does look like it is the same bulb, just no green cover on it. The 3 bulbs in the green sockets are the back lights, and anything with a black socket is one of the indicator lights. I'd say the easiest thing to do would be pull the gauges again and see if you did swap the fuel light to an LED, and if so swap it back to see if it fixes the problem.

Handful of posts in and nobody knows why it is?
Most simply put, it's called a current bleed - that circuit is sensitive/reliant to the inherent load an incandescent bulb carries. Now that there is an LED in place which has almost zero resistance, the small amount of current being constantly sent through is enough to light it up to a degree. For whatever reason what lights bleed over seem to vary from dash to dash with the battery light being most consistent, but there are definitely several people that have noticed more than to have a one in more that just the battery light. I personally had one in my low gas, turn signals, battery, and one or two others I'm forgetting
Like many LED problems in order to fix it you would have to either tap a resistor into the circuit (not very feasible here) or simply swap it back out with it's old bulb
Edit: Or if you really want an LED there, if you're using a #74 LED you can maybe try a #24 and it might not be so noticeable? I believe the originals in those slots are #24 bulbs but iirc theres something weird about base sizes between LEDs and incandescent bulbs

He just put an LED where he didn't mean to...
The low fuel light (on the earlier 3rd gens) *requires* an incandescent bulb for the circuit to work. It works in conjunction with an NTC thermistor in the tank to light the bulb when the thermistor is out of the fuel (low fuel).
Really though, all the indicators should remain incandescent. LED backlights are fine.

okay guys, good news, I pulled apart my dash today and replaced the fourth light in the video with the old Halogen, (the one on the left of the cluster when you're looking at it from behind and it turned off) so we're all good now. Thanks for the help duck!
