Yeah, I was completely OK with the initial 6-12 week lead at the time of purchase - which for a custom product I thought was reasonable. Obviously since february, things have happened outside of their control but now entering week 38 I am selfishly kind of getting antsy. Especially with it now getting dark at 5PM on the east coast lol. Oh well. Looking forward to when they do show up.

For full transparency - mine ended up getting delivered on November 27th.

So 9m5d from the order. Very similar.

As most have said, they're well worth the wait and lightyears better than the OEM setup. I just would've been better prepared to wait the 9months if it weren't initially 6 weeks... but its all good.

I didnt get anything crazy I don't really go for halos or RGB crap. I just wanted clean retrofits - and these do not disappoint.

The cutoff line is so crisp that I have not been able to get a completely seamless line between both sides, but its pretty damn close.

I found that I had to use vice grips and gently move the entire bulb assembly versus the adjustment screws to really level them out and then was able to use the adjustment screws for the height of the cutoff lines.

If you haven't already - cut the DRL wire so that they're not on all the time.

Good luck with the install.

Just ordered mine! Isn't there a fuse for the DRLs? Why cut the wire?

There may be a fuse? I am not 100% sure. I just know that in my research, albeit brief - most just said to clip the DRL wire. I believe that the wire may be only in reference to the 01-02 models? (mine is a 2001)...

How to: Disable DRL on your 3rd gen. (earlier models)

How to disable DRL's for an '01

That said, I had always wanted to disable the DRL's on mine and was finally motivated enough to do it once the new lights showed up.

Its funny I just saw this thread as I brought home my mom's old 2002 4Runner over the holidays since she finally upgraded, and I didn't want to see such a clean, one owner truck go to waste.

I ordered my base model lights today and found this thread 30 minutes later. I guess I just ordered myself a Christmas present for 2022. Oh well.

Just curious, does the same procedure to disable to DRLs on the 01s work on the 02s??

Thanks

Thanks for the tips man, I was wondering if anyone had an issue with the tilt being off. Good to know you can rotate it like that.

Kind of bummed but I ordered corner lights and the RGB controller as well and neither of those were in the box, just the headlights. Oh well. Non stop delays it seems.

I can look..but just since I'm already here, do you use the top or bottom adjuster for the height adjustment?

Of course. If memory serves me correctly the top adjustment screw is for the width and the bottom screw is for the height.

Also I found that a 10mm flex head ratcheting wrench was much easier to get the adjustment done than a screwdriver.

Hopefully the corners and the controller were just a mistake because that really sucks. Good luck with that, hopefully they make it right

Nice score then!

As far as I know, and what I’ve read the 2001 and 2002 T4R’s are more-less the same. And unfortunately for us it’s when they introduced some new electronics.

That said, check out the links I sent earlier - they all reference the 01-02 years and then the 96-00.

Cheers

Much appreciated...I found what I was looking for in some of the links. I actually pulled the black/yellow wire from the plug and taped it off instead of cutting, just in the off chance I ever want to put it back to stock. Looking forward to my new headlights in.......SEP 2022?!?. In all honesty, thats no worse than the Gobi rack on my wife's 2016 4Runner....pretty sure that was 7 months, and that was pre-COVID-stupidity.

I bought retrofits from them in August 2021, I've been trying to reach out to them for since October 2021 because I wanted an update on my order. He literally replied to me 3 days ago telling me that they'll be ready in January. I don't know if this helps but that's what ive been told

This is almost a carbon copy of my experience. Ordered black Friday of 2020 and received in late October 2021. I reached out at about 6 months (lead times were stated at 3-4 months when I ordered) and received a polite response, but I agree that it would be a good idea to push updates to customers with some updates.

I've had mine waiting to be installed for a while now, and finally got around to it yesterday. I have a couple of questions for you or anyone else who has installed them. Now that I have them in, I've noticed that the new lights don't have the same shape as the old one's and poke out past the corner lights rather than the smooth curve of the old ones which matched with the corner lights. Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, I'm curious about cutting the DRL wire as I've found that mine are on fully all the time, but I can't figure out which is the DRL wire. I've actually pulled the DRL fuse and they still come on as DRL's.

Edit: I've gone out and stared at them more, and I think the difference is all in my head and the shape is the same. I'm still curious about the DRL wire though.
