I went to visit these guys in July and let me tell you that they were slammed. Orders up the ying yang. They do great work (seen it up close and personal). I was going to order small stuff for my truck, but when he told me what the ETA was, I buckled.

Anyone know how long it would take to get their retrofit DIY kit? Actual real time experience and not just what their website says?

To follow up and answer my own question, after you install the BXBuilt headlights, if you don't want them to turn on all the time because your daytime running lights are triggering them on turn on, all you need to do is disconnect the DRL resistor. It is a roughly 2 inch metal box pretty close to the front of the drives side inner fender well next to the battery. It has a 2 pin connector on it, and if you disconnect that connector the lights will only turn on when you turn on the headlight switch instead of as soon as you release the parking brake.

I can't even begin to explain the troubles I had getting mine lined up well. Just finally got them pretty good yesterday. I had a huge gap between the headlight and the trim panel on the grill side and I kept trying to adjust them but couldn't get them to do what I wanted. I finally swapped the old headlight buckets/frames/backing plates, whatever you want to call the black part that actually mounts to the truck, from my old TYC headlights including their adjustment hardware and it now all lines up. The others were also super loose within these housings and swapping made it all tight. I don't want to say this is required but it got me set up correctly. Take the inner adjuster and just about back it all the way out to where you barely see any threads showing, then get 25ft. back from a wall and adjust the lower adjuster to get your height right. Once you get these to the right spot the headlight housing should be decently close to where it should be relative to the trim panel and the grill. Hopefully that helps.

Ouch! I wish I knew this, as I placed an order 11/15, and they confirmed 18-22 week lead time, which is a worst case of 4/18. Hope they come close to that!

I waited around 4 months for my DIY retrofit kit order. They are slammed. Also at the time I was waiting for my order, I was told that a business doing renovations next door to them cut their server lines that put them down for quite some time. I would assume the DIY kits would ship faster than the ones they build. Should prob confirm.
I received my order before Christmas though and they've been very responsive. I'd buy again, just have to keep your lead time expectations in check. Quality seems to be good! Also, the price on the DIY kits is very appealing.

I would recommend the DIY kit being it looks pretty simple and the ones I got are scratched on the inside. Want it done right in a timely fashion, do it yourself.

I've thought about the DIY kit myself. I guess for anyone who purchased the DIY kit - share your experiences. I'd be interested in the kit for a few projects other than my T4r to retrofit them, because it is a good product IMO.

Although there are already a few..I am working on a YouTube video covering all of this.

When I first got them in I couldn't get them adjusted right at all and they were literally loose within the backing frames. I changed out the hardware and frames from my old TYC lights and found them to be much better. Was this required? No, I don't think so, but I knew they would be solid and I had them, so I did it. Mainly, I think the spring in the frames they sent were too long. Once you horizontally align them to where they should be it should have tension on the springs so this may have been my issue but at first, they were floppy and loose.
I also think the adjuster style of the TYCs is far superior so that motivated me to swap everything.

I had to rotate both the projectors within the housing and the drivers side is still not perfect but it is hitting some stop of some sort and I can't get it to rotate any further. I'm happy with where it is.

Overall after a few days of tinkering and messing around, I'm extremely happy with them. I was pretty aggravated for awhile but I am happy now that everything is good.

Now I just wait for the halo controller and the corner lights. In the mean time I just ordered some black corners that were readily available off eBay...

Ordered mine early Sept, with a 12 week build time. Nothing arrived. I contacted them and was given the normal excuses and told it would ship no later than Jan 10th. Still nothing.

They are good at answering emails, but not good at proactively keeping customers informed when they fail to deliver as expected. That's the frustrating part. When you're out this kind of money for something, it's not unreasonable to expect basic order updates.

Ordered a DIY retrofit kit on black Friday and it just shipped. Just a hair over their estimated wait time.
