So 9m5d from the order. Very similar.

As most have said, they're well worth the wait and lightyears better than the OEM setup. I just would've been better prepared to wait the 9months if it weren't initially 6 weeks... but its all good.

I didnt get anything crazy I don't really go for halos or RGB crap. I just wanted clean retrofits - and these do not disappoint.

The cutoff line is so crisp that I have not been able to get a completely seamless line between both sides, but its pretty damn close.

I found that I had to use vice grips and gently move the entire bulb assembly versus the adjustment screws to really level them out and then was able to use the adjustment screws for the height of the cutoff lines.

If you haven't already - cut the DRL wire so that they're not on all the time.

Good luck with the install.
9 months?? Damn! I haven't read into detail what their packages consist of but what's included in their base package that makes waiting 6-18 week (in your case 9months) so special? Is it just projectors with nothing else added? Is it the type of projectors they use? Their warranty? What sets them apart from other like lightwerks and such?

Well, when I initially purchased them from BX - the lead time was 6-12 weeks. Which I was OK with.

I think if you were to ask me at the time that I ordered them if I still would have ordered them knowing they'd take over 9 months instead, I would at the very least have looked at other options.

I have been building my truck to be more of an OEM+ type of look and thus the reason I went with just a base retro-fit. I had heard good things about the BX lights, and their social media certainly makes you think they're great - and to be fair they are. Especially upgrading from my OEM original halogen lights form 2001.

That said, I guess they had supply chain issues, covid issues, moving their business issues and then lack of labor issues. I legitimately was told all of those things when I would inquire every 2 months or so. And I believe them, per their social media posts and what not.

Would I have liked to have been compensated in some way, swag, discount, etc for waiting legitimately 40+ weeks instead of the initial 6-12? I don't know. They're a small business trying to make it and I think were very much (probably still are) overwhelmed.

At the end of the day, the lights are very nice. Admittedly, I have not done a ton of research on other base retro-fits. I think in hindsight - especially after really looking at these, and seeing DIY videos on how people do them themselves - thats the route I would have gone. Potentially even ordering the DIY kit from BX - or just sourcing all the mirimoto parts myself.

Long winded answer, but to really answer your question as to what sets them a part? I am not sure. Someone who has experience dealing with other projector retrofit brands as well as BX would have to chime in. I went with what I thought- based on limited research at the time- was the top of line, best looking, best performing base-retrofit I could find.

Good to know. I know a lot of ppl dislike DDM products. I retrofitted my brother's 02 4runner using all their components. This was about 10 years ago. Still performs as it did day 1. Granted, newer, better performing projectors has been released since then but, retrofitting them wasn't hard. just take patience.

I've retro'd cars using DDM mini H1 V1 and V3, DDM D2S V1 and V2, and their IFX projectors. Of all them, I'd say the D2S V2 was the best performing, easy DIY, weekend project to do. The beam pattern was a lot further. I did also like the IFX but that was a true custom type install had to be tuned out and stuff.

I wanted to see what the hype was with the moriomoto 4.0 and 5.0. So I ordered them and retor'd them into cars. I really didn't see no difference in performance.

Yeah there is definitely a ton of info out there on how to do it. And I particularly like DIY'ing stuff as it is - so that would be my advice to anyone else out there looking to do it. Still kicking myself for not, but I was stuck once I had ordered them. Hell, even if you're worried buy another set of lights/find them at a scrap yard and go to town.

Yep. Find a cheap set from a scrap yard is the best way. I'm glad you got yours all squared away and you're happy with them. Compared to OEM, they're night and day difference. But at least you stayed away from all that halos and stuff. I was never a fan of all that. They belong on BMW's.

And BTW, DDM's are lifetime warranty (when I last bought few years ago) on projectors if you ever decide to go down this path.

So my son has a 99 SR5 with no DRL's or Fog lamps from factory.
After waiting 9 month's to get his order, they sent him the latest and greatest "B3 Pro's". They are supposed to be "plug n play" but when he plug's them in nothing happens at all.
DM BX Built on IG and was told to switch a couple of wire's to the bulb around (only 3 wires: Blue, white and brown) I've tried every configuration with these wires and none work fully.
Some work just for low beam but no high beam, some work high beam but no low beam. Anyone else have this problem with the newest version headlamp harness not working in your non DRL rig?

Side not: This works as "plug n play" on my dad's 02 limited with DRL's.
Is my problem maybe cause I don't have DRL's and this kit is set up for DRL's only?

BX Built hasn't answered me about this question

I had a similar problem so I reached out and got on the phone with Andrew (the owner) right away. He had me "repin" the OEM headlight harness and that fixed my problem. If I recall correctly, he said there's either 2 or 3 different variants in the six years of 3rd gens, that was the reasoning for the repinning being needed. This was two years ago though. I had DRLs on my 2000 SR5 but had long ago disabled them prior to the install.

Holy crap… I’m sorry to hear that bud. Did you order anything extra with your headlights? I’ve been considering ordering just the basic led headlights without halos or any extras. From what I’ve seen it seems that some people with certain add ons have crazy wait times like you are experiencing.

FWIW the base chrome retrofits were what I ordered to prompt this thread.

I am not sure what their current advertised/real current lead times are, but I stand by what I said in that I'd go the DIY route IF they're still 9+ months (if that is something you're willing to take on).
