BXBuilt lead times in 2021
First, this is not a post that will flame bxbuilt. I'll delete it if we go down that road because they do seem like a decent group of guys. More of a curiosity post to see what kind of lead times you have experienced with orders from them in 2020/2021.
EDIT: Sorry to all of those screwed by this company.
I placed an order back in February for base retrofit headlights and IIRC the initial lead time was 6-12 weeks. Per the site, they're now saying 18-20 minimum lead times for new orders.
I am entering week 27 so it'll be a nice surprise when they do show up. I know they've moved shops and have had difficulties with covid and supply chain, but has anyone experienced delivery of new products in 2021? How long did you wait?

Hey man, I got my retrofits from BX back in Fall 2020 but I'd like to put in my two cents. Judging from your post you're aware of how insanely busy they are and their other holdups. You don't sound very annoyed or frustrated (props to you for that, 27 weeks is a helluva long time to wait), but I just want to reassure you they'll be worth the wait. Not sure how much you've reached out to them, but their customer service was top notch when I got mine.
Some of my wiring had to be slightly modified so I messaged them, minutes later I was on the phone with Andrew, the owner.

I ordered a set on November 27th 2020 as part of their black Friday sale. I received my order on July 9th 2021. 32 weeks from order to delivery. They are definitely overwhelmed right now, and struggling to keep people up to date with their order status. They were great to deal with when I did reach out to check on the status, they just aren't being proactive to notify customers of changes to their estimated receipt date.

I've reached out a couple times in hopes of getting a realistic ETA but will just continue to patiently wait. As to you saying they're worth the wait... That is what is making this so difficult LOL.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The power of social media for small businesses I guess. Seems like instagram has helped them skyrocket.

Havent had a chance to unpack/get it installed yet but it was packed really well.

Just figured I'd update this for anyone looking into getting the base retrofits from BX...
Entering week 37 with no ETA. I reached out in september and was told no later than 11/5. Well yesterday I sent another email out to see what is up, and was told they're experiencing delays in shipping (no kidding...)
As a DIY'er I wish I would've went that route...

That's insane that you've been waiting this long. Have they offered anything to make amends for the extended wait time?

Nothing. Just to keep an eye out for an email when they ship... lol
I finally pushed back a little bit in my email last night. According to the site, if I were to buy them today - they're expecting 18-20 week lead times. And I am currently at nearly double that - and purchased them when they estimated 6-12 weeks for lead.
So something doesn't add up

Sounds like a similar trajectory to some AOR bumper sagas I've read here. I'm sure your story will have a happy ending very soon, but there are also lots of small businesses run by great people making great product that suffered Death due to Unmanageable Success.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered March 27th or so, no sight of them yet. I also got the same sort of update saying "they would be shipped no later than 10/15." I messaged them again in the end of October with the same sort of update you got..shipping delays and such. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait but yes kind of sucks man. I would imagine its hard to find people who you can count on to build solid retrofits so its not like employing new people is easy.

I had been emailing with Daniel and he has assured me another date for later this month. So it is what it is. Hopefully they show up.
Still not intending to drag BX with this but more of an informative post for anyone looking to get the headlights from them.

So I ordered mine back in October 2019, I don't think that I received them until like February 2020. He always responded when I would email him and was very clear on that they were backlogged but he was always working on getting stuff out the door. He ended up upgrading my lights to LED's for free, I mean at least he said he would but ended up shipping me the standard ones. When I followed up and asked what happened, he apologized and sent me a return shipping label so I could send them back, a few weeks later he sent me the new ones and I was good to go. They worked perfectly for about a month and then a harness failed on one of the lights. I emailed him and we kind of troubleshot it going back and forth before we agreed it was bad so he sent me a new harness and they have been awesome ever since.
Long story short, he isn't the quickest but he always responded to my emails and when shit went bad he stepped up. To me that means more than a speedy turnaround.

I went into it knowing that there would be time involved and I'm okay with that. When you are buying something that is handbuilt AND a good product that many want... I don't personally see where you can expect it to be lightening fast. I will also agree that the customer service has been top notch. Just have to be patient. That's also the way I see it with the fabricated bumpers. I haven't ordered one yet but plan to do so..and expect to wait.
