Toytec Boss 2.0 Aluma Coilover Orientation
Good afternoon!
Last night I installed a fresh pair of Toytec Boss 2.0 Aluma Series coilovers to replace my old, worn boss set. Before installation, I called over to Toytec to make sure these parts were not side specific. The rep advised they were not side specific, I just needed to install so the Toytec logo was facing outward. I installed the driver side first, and the bottom mount needed a fair amount of turning to line up. Not a big deal, I've read that is expected. The Toytec logo and top of the shock body where it connects to the top mount ended up being slightly angled in relation to the UCA and the vehicle. At this point, I didn't think too much about it and moved on to the passenger side. On the passenger side, the unit slid right in, the toytec logo and top mount were dead nuts center. The bottom mount required very minimal adjustment to get in line (maybe a couple millimeters of turning). I then noticed that the outer top mount bolts did not match from passenger to driver side. The passenger side top mount outer bolt (which seemed to fit "better") utilized the center of the 3 bolt holes, while the driver side (which is angled) utilized the first bolt hole. My inner peace is being greatly disturbed by these not matching up from side to side! I have confirmed that the holes on both coilover top mounts were identical prior to installation (see attachments for visual aid)
My question is: does this matter? Why/how could this happen?
Thanks in advance!
