But for you I would say LEDs. They are better than Halogens in basically every way. Unless you live in Siberia I don't see you freezing over your LEDs, I've never heard of that being an issue on a car sense the engine probably radiates enough heat to keep them clear of snow depending on where you mount them.

up here LED's can freeze over, but that said, LED's are the way I go.Any kind of extra lights up here are called moose lights ( to see the moose) . After the first few weeks of winter we dont see much moisture and its usually dry and blows off the car/lights when driving so nothing like lights then freeze over. But during those first few weeks and last few weeks the snow is wet and heavy and LED's dont produce enough heat to keep snow and ice off.
I doubt many people would need ditch lights if they are out driving in that kind of temperature anyway in the lower 48
