The entire unit has to be replaced. I am talking to the manufacturer about possible options, but it seems the filter media is custom cut and the 3d print is around the filter media, making it impossible to just swap.

The size of the filter means you probably won't need to change it but every 6 months. I change the one in my Subaru every 3 at 10 bucks a pop, so it's pretty close to the same as a modern setup.

FWIW GM recommends the cabin filter replaced every 3 years or 36,000 miles. Granted they are larger surface area.

Not to hijack the thread, but on the topic of cabin venting and filtration, but on the other end of the rig, did yall see these?

I believe there is a discount code if you follow Timmy's IG but you'll have to locate that.

Oh, that's really neat. We've needed this solution for a while.

Yeah, I ordered a full kit. It never occurred to be that I didn't have to sleep in a dust storm back there......

Awesome! I was recently thinking of putting a rubber flap or something back there to help

PM Me for details on placing your pre-order. These will ONLY be available via pre-order for the first run. I am trying to build up a stock of these and work on a vendor who can ship them out quickly, but it will probably be early next year before I have the supply chain all squared away.

I sent a DM, I’m not totally sure if it went through or not.

OLX хабарландырулар қызметі: Қазақстандағы жеке хабарландырулар сайты - OLX.kz сайтында қолданылған тауарларды сатып алу / сату

Here ya go guys! But Im sure buying from OP is way better, especially if he buys bulk. And also the Prado filter is the same as the Hilux Surf/4Runner, but don't quote me on that! I just remember the prados runners and surfs from those years use the same vent design and motor.

The filter filters both outside entering air, and cabin circulated air, as it sits below the vent switching clap, which I think is the better option than just outside air as if something enters through the window, it has a higher chance to get sucked and filtered from below the dash glove compartment!

Im all the way in Bulgaria, and I think if I order from OP, it might just come faster than to order from Kazakhstan, where Mr. Tupolevv is residing. The filters are "sdelani" in Russia tho!

OP's prices are pretty convenient for a filter for a car that has none originally, delivered to the US zipcode!

The factory does have a flap on there, they have just all fallen off by this point.

That cover is a nice solution for those with tube rear bumpers to hide the ugly vent.

You might be the guy that turned me onto the supplier from Reddit!

I'm hoping to get a real vendor lined up for these so you can just go to a website and order. Hoping first of next year we will have a US Stock for fast shipping and do away with the pre-order.

Thanks to everyone that has pre-ordered so far. I still have 5 of the original filters that have not been spoken/paid for yet. If anyone wants one NOW, I will make you a deal - 30 bucks SHIPPED for the Original style filter.

Shoot yeah I'll take one. I'll probably order a new style one in the future when it's time to replace this one. I'll send you a DM.

If you make me a deal on a couple originals to go with my order of 3 new-style ones I'll use 'em as stocking stuffers!
