Huh, that's a really good question. I've seen maybe 2 or 3 diesel Surf owners on here so one of them would have to know, on the off chance they see this. Can't remember any of their usernames to tag them right now. I would definitely imagine they do but I've never once heard mention of it - but then again, there's not much talk on the diesel models anyways since we never got them here in the states and the overwhelming majority of the userbase here is American
Diesels absolutely require more power and more often than not have dual batts from the factory; as Brian said you
can get away with one sometimes, but that's almost always with tiny TDI engines. I believe my buddies cummins actually has 3 batteries, if I remember correctly
