I have a 1997 4runner using the Tundra struts with TRD springs up front and the LC80 coils with rear shocks. After do research from the forum I ended going the Dobinson C59-210V springs with Bilstein 5160 25-227611 (FJ cruiser shocks) in the rear and up front I am running Bilstein 5100 24-261425 (1st Gen Tundra strut) with Dobinson C59-302 springs (used for 1st gen Tundra 2” lift, 4th Gen 4runner or FJ Cruisers 2’ lift).
I used the 3rd gen 4runner Top plate with KYB SM184 with the Energy Suspension Ploy Isolator. I set the front struts at the bottom perch of the 5100 with the 302 springs roughly about a 3” lift. The stands of the 3rd gen had a little rake but with my Wilco Solo hitch tire carrier, 33” tire, Hi Lift jack, and custom rear drawer system the made it even from front to back. The ride is so much better than the Tundra TRD springs just like the 210V springs Devbot mentioned. I would recommend anyone running a fully loaded truck front bumper and winch, rear bumper with carrier is a great setup.
