Info on dog kennels for 3rd gen
I wanted to post some info about what I’ve found trying to fit the Ruffland dog crates/kennels in the rear cargo area between the wheel wells in a 1999 3rd gen.
I have a Ruffland Large crate with a side door and today I received a Ruffland Intermediate without a side door. They just barely *won’t* fit side-by-side within the wheel wells because of the extra width added by the side door. If I remove the side door, they will fit and the side wall of the Intermediate will block the doorless side opening of the Large.
What would work a lot better would be to have the normal Large size without a side door. That should fit next to an Intermediate, also without a side door. Or two Intermediates would also work.
For sizing, I can tell you that my blocky female lab-mix weighs in the mid-50’s and is approx 19” at the withers. The Intermediate seems like a decent size for her. Snug but not too uncomfortable. My male lab-shepherd mix is around 74 lbs and approx 23” at the withers. The large is a decent size for him - also snug but not too bad.
Hope this is a help for the dog people on here.
