High idle after miniheader swap 3rz

I mostly finished my 3rz miniheader swap and I turned the engine over for the first time and immediately noticed that my RPM at idle had more that doubled from ~700 to around 2000 rpm. I only had the engine on for 6 seconds because I didn't want a hot engine, but I also noted that the rpm was relatively steady.

I made sure that all the vacuum hoses were put back and that all the electrical connectors were plugged in. When I was working I made sure that the part of the airbox with the maf sensor had a rubber glove stretched over the opening so that nothing could come into contact with it.

Now there are some issues that could be causing the high idle. The 2 cables that run to the cruise control module cross over each other (seen here) for some reason, it was always arranged like this on my 4runner but I see that other 3rz 4runners don't have this strange setup. This causes the cables to have a less direct path.

Another possibility is that the bracket that holds the airtube in place (seen here) is missing on my 4runner. I didn't encounter one when I was removing my old manifold, the bracket was just gone. An important detail about this stretch of of pipe is that it also has a bracket coming off of it that helps hold the throttle cables in place, and that now appears to be sitting a bit lower.

I'm pretty sure my throttle cable is failing to completely shut the butterfly valve. Is there any way I can lubricate the throttle cable so that it doesn't bind so easily?

What else should I check?

(PS yesterday when I drove my sister to work I forgot that I had set my phone down on the engine when I was working on it the night before, so I wont be able to take photos unfortunately )

What's your normal idle on a cold engine? Let your engine warm up and see what the idle settles down to. 2000 rpm isn't going to hurt your engine. I'm sure you get above 2000 rpm when you drive.
If you think the cable is the issue then unhook it from the throttle body.

Unbolted the cc module and flipped it over so the cables werent crossing over, should of done that before I made this because that dropped the rpm from 2000 to 1100. Went over all the hoses I touched and made sure they were definitely in.

I idled the engine for a longer period of time and there were some small fluctuations <100 rpm up and down, but it seemed to be dropping like you said it would. Before I could get a final operating idle I saw white smoke coming out of the engine bay and I killed it out of cation.

I'm pretty sure the smoke is some coating Toyota put on the manifold or the high temp paint I sprayed on the manifold (I cured the paint in the oven before I fitted it but maybe it is still settling). Anyone have this happen when they did this mod?

Maybe this will help regarding throttle cables

I would fully expect any paint to smoke when it first sees 1000F

Okay everything is back to usual. RPM sitting at 700 during idle. I can still hear a tick, any way to check that everything is air tight?
