Currently randomly having this code show up. If I don’t have o/d the transmission doesn’t overheat on long drives. If it’s on then it will show the a/t temp light after a few hours of driving at around 70-75mph.
Anybody had this issue? What fixed it?
Thanks everyone

Shift solenoid E is for torque converter clutch lockup. It could be caused by either a failing/failed shift solenoid E, a failing/failed torque converter clutch, or possibly wiring/ecm. (This is coming from my 2000 FSM.) If your torque converter is never locking up when you are driving fast enough for lockup to occur (usually 46 mph and over) then your transmission is generating a ton of extra heat and you are toasting your transmission fluid and internals.
How does your transmission fluid smell?
You could need a torque converter or a shift solenoid E or a new transmission depending on how much damage was done.
