Battery Tray Idea

My 4Runner has a 24F battery that is a little larger than the tray it's on.

If I made my own tray, would it be safe to use polyurethane?

Polyurethane holds up to battery acid OK but probably won’t take under hood temps well.

HDPE is probably a better choice.

Battery Tray Idea

I have a 24f as well and fits fine. It overhangs a little off the tray, but it hasn’t budge and I do my fair share of off-roading.

I printed one out of PLA about a 1.5 years ago and it's been fine so far. I had intended to re-print it a while back but it just keeps being fine so... I will leave it alone I guess. it's just a simple tray the size of the battery bottom + lip edge all the way around.

Simple: Use a lid off of a plastic shoe box. Using for years and it's doing the job. Costs $2!
