P1335 - cold cranking issue

Hi everyone,

I have a 2000 4runner limited with about 186k miles.
I recently start having issue when starting the truck in the morning, the truck will not start on 1st turn of the key, it will make kind of a "grinding" sound (like the starter pully is not engaged all the way) but then will start just fine.
It will only do this once a day, the 1st start of the day and then will be fine for the rest of the day, I have no lose of power and the truck is driving great other than that.
I will sometimes gat a CEL P1300 as a secondary error following to P1335.

In the recent few months I did the following:

1. New NGK coil wires and spark plugs.
2. New 6 injectors - resolved a miss fire issues I had.
3. Change all fluids in the truck.
4. Starter rebuild.

The error description for P1335 is:
No crankshaft position sensor signal to ECM with engine
speed 1,000 rpm or more.

Troubleshooting area:
* Open or short in crankshaft position sensor circuit
* Crankshaft position sensor
* Crankshaft timing pulley
* ECM

I measured the resistance on both the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor and they were both in spec.
I also replaced both of them just in case there was any issue, but that did not fix the problem.

I'm thinking the ECM is the next thing to check, and I might be able to put my hand on one for troubleshooting.

Any other suggestions or insights are welcome.

I suspect the starter contacts are wearing out, replace those and those starting symptoms are likely to go away, the contacts are the most common issue with 3rd gem starters. No idea about those CEL codes, lets see what others say. Luck.
