thanks. I will look into getting an OTC compression tester. this summer I want to retest mine and one of my grandsons wants to get a older taco. of course my 4runner at 245k is using no oil, no antifreeze....great engines.

She declined his offer that day but I still bought a set. If it happens again... Anyway, that set is too big given what you described but they probably make smaller versions, might work if anyone else finds themself in the same boat someday.

OTC makes quality tools, just sucks they're mostly made in China for the price they charge when in many cases you can get USA made for less - Amazon.com: Lang Tools CLT-2 100 PSI Cylinder Leakage Tester with 2 Gauges : Automotive Even the $500 hub grappler kit I think only the puller itself is still made here.
