Front Diff Leak

I suffered the LBJ failure a few weeks ago. I went to replace the CV axle and now where the CV axle goes into the diff now leaks fluid. Just a few drops a day but I would like to replace the diff gasket. Does anyone know a good write up to replace the diff gasket? I've searched the site and haven't seen anything. Just not sure how to get the hold one out and new one in without damaging it.

No help on the diff unfortunately but what was your mileage of failure for the lower ball joints? just curious.

I bought it used so not sure. I drove it 40k in 2 years. Should have changed that immediately. Lesson learned. I love 4runners and will for sure have more in the future and will do that maintenance as soon as I get one.

Thank you! Going to try this, this weekend. Tried last weekend with the Lisle Seal Puller but couldn't get the seal out. I went to harbor freight and purchased a slide hammer that I'll try this weekend. Figured out they call it a CV axle seal not an axle gasket also. No wonder I couldn't find any info on the site.

Tims video on installing the ECGS bushing should give a good idea of what's what in that area. Maybe not the same side you need as you didn't mention which...
