I had the opposite happen. I was working outside my house and a guy drives up and stops “hey man you like 4Runners huh? I’m trying to sell one” Turns out he lives down the street and had a 3rd gen with a mystery trans problem. I went and looked at it but one of the shock mounts was rusted off so I passed. He had a Bronco too and I told him to call me if he wanted to part with it and two weeks later he called me and I bought that instead
