light grinding sound when accelerating up to 35mph?

It goes away in idle, or coasting above 35 mph, but it sounds like it's coming from the front. I recorded the sound and it's posted here (not sure if linking to reddit is allowed):

Can anyone help me identify this sound? Very light grinding almost sound.. : 3rdGen4Runner

Does anyone know what it could be?

I can't hear much on vid but you say no 'noise' at idle.
Is that sitting still idle or rolling idle?

Guess you've checked the obvious like front brake shields?
If 4WD, sometimes the TC's rubber noise damper is loose.
All fluids up to spec?

At both rolling and sitting idle, anything over 35 also makes the sound go away.

And I haven’t really checked anything, just haven’t driven it much. I’m mechanically super limited so it’s frustrating trying to figure out what might be basic checks for others. I have little to no clue

Well that narrows it down some. It could be many things like a heat shield a little loose or some worn suspension item.

If you are very limited perhaps you should take it to a trusted mechanic?

Yes I need to find someone to take a look. Wanting to learn since so many here are so able to work on their cars themselves and diagnose things but I guess that’s my expense for not knowing haha

As an aside - I removed my TC harmonic damper when I noticed the rubber section that connected the weight to the mounting bracket was torn anyway. I also suspected it rubbed on my TC skid. I don't often hear much about the device on the forum other than the 'what is this thing?' threads. Other than the fact that they are there for a reason, do you have an opinion on their need?

Grinding when accelerating

Hey, I’m getting this grinding/buzzing sound when I accelerate in my 98 limited. It sounds like it’s coming from the passenger side engine bay and I can feel it in the gas pedal when letting on and off the gas. This all happens after around 30mph. I tried the gas when in park and I didn’t get the sound. I also tried putting on the gas in drive while on the brake at the same time and didn’t get it, and did the same in reverse. I watched the engine when I did it to see if it was jumping around, and it wasn’t. I’m wondering if my sound is similar to anything y’all have come across and maybe have some ideas of what it could be. I posted a video to YouTube of the sound. I’ll include the link

Sounds like a loose exhaust or heat shield to me
