Power windows and locks stoped working

This weekend I did the so called "grey wire mod" (despite the wire not being grey) to my 4Runner so I could use my rear E-Locker in 2H and 4H instead of just 4L.

The locker now works perfectly in all transfer case modes, so the mod works as expected.

But now (and it could be pure coincidence) my power seats, windows and locks stopped working, which is a bit of an issue because my window is halfway open and it’s the middle of winter in Canada.

Dose anyone know what could be wrong or has had this happen to them

My 4Runner is my only car so I would like to fix this ASAP

Any help is appreciated

I'd start checking fuses first. I don't have the wiring diagram for a 1997, but based on the 2000 diagram I'd be looking at the 30A Power Fuse. It should be in the drivers kick panel.

Yes check that, but it is in the junction block, not the kick panel. It's the body ECU which you can access through the left lower dash area.

Check for any broken wires inside the rubber boot between the drivers door and Body.

The square pink one that is in the upper right corner? If it doesn't have continuity it needs to be replaced. It may just be a fluke, but you may also have a problem which will blow the replacement fuse as well, so be ready to troubleshoot further.
