You're only lifted about an inch then not 4". You said you wanted a lift of 3" instead of the 4" you have. I'm pretty sure Toyota never slang 4runners with a 3 or for 4 inch suspension lift straight out the factory. Well good luck choosing your next coils!

LC 8 wraps are front coil springs from an FJ80 Land Cruiser. Not an OEM coil for 3rd gen 4Runners, but are an OEM coil for the front of FJ80 Land Cruisers. LC front springs will lift the rear 3-4 inches depending on how many wraps and how much weight you are running. Here's some links if you want to read more about it: https://www.google.com/search?q=site...client=gws-wiz

I also have a 1” body lift. My springs came from a guy with a 2016 so not really new but not really old either, had around 50k on them, maybe I got a bad set. This is just my experience and yes at full droop with regular bilstein 5100’s they are loose and *could fall out. They also don’t seat properly in the 3rd gen spring seats as the 5th gen springs have a much wider base. which may not bother some but it bothers me. And as far as “weight” all is what I had before taking off the bumper was some miscellaneous tools and stuff, maybe 100lbs worth. For some members they have worked great and in my experience they’re okay for what they are, I personally wouldn’t recommend them but maybe I’m the one-off This is just my opinion and experience you don’t have to believe me but I don’t gain anything from “misinformation”

I didn't mean your were giving out misinformation. The guy who started this whole post says the 1999 long coils have him lifted 4". That's the misinformation I'm referring to. I wanted to get the real approximate lift. Why didn't you get the right seat? Slightly extended bump stops may be intelligent if your rig does that. I know I wouldn't want a coil popping out on the trail. Also I'm wondering how a coil that lifts your truck can fall out. That may happen if you were using cinder blocks to lift it but a coil?

If you're referring to octanejunkie, at no point did he say he was getting 4 inches of lift from 99 long coils. He said he was getting 4 inches from LC 8 wraps.

Who are you talking about when you say "the guy who started this whole post"?

EDIT: To answer your coil question, the free height of a coil is important for keeping the coil in the correct location. If the free height is less than the amount of flex then you risk the coil coming out. Different springs have different free heights while providing the same amount of lift.

Simple mistake since he happens to have a 1999 4runner. LC I was thinking thinking long coils instead of tall. Sorry bout that.

I will second/third that 4th gen / 5th gen / FJ coils have too large of a lower diameter and a short free length. They work for the price (mine were free...) - small lift, stiffer, etc. I will still change over to OME 2906 coils at some point.

They won't fall out at fully droop or flex, but they are loose (not enough room to get over the center hump, but can move a bit) with stock or near stock length shocks (I run 5100's).

I am mostly looking for something with good ride quality that is not a spacer lift. I know there are the 5100s but there seems to be a million different coil spring options. Any recs on something easy on the budget but that gives a good ride? Thanks in advance.
I also wanted a smoother ride and changed front struts & rear shocks (generic sensas from amazon), but got an unintended (2-3") lift. Mine's a '97 though so YMMV, just putting this out there. It rides really smooth now thigh. Gonna have to change rear springs too because with the lift, the rear end looks like it's sagging.
