Original 3rd Gen T4R Advertisements

I’ve been collecting original advertisements for the 3rd gen 4Runner and I thought you all might be interested in seeing them. I tried to scan at the best resolution I could. I think these things are pretty neat. I have a whole book of MK3 Supra original ads I collected years ago. I framed a couple of the 2001 ones and hung them in my office.

I have the original brochure for the 01 and 02 as well, but haven’t scanned or taken pics of them yet. Feel free to add in any other original advertisement type stuff you may have!

I love the retro ads! I never thought about framing them. Where do you normally find these? eBay?

Really cool. Thanks for collecting and sharing! Interesting to see ads models other than the top spec Limited. I'm always on the lookout for an early red SR5 like in the second ad. So clean.

Real cool. The classic 3rd gen had this ae86 feel I've always appreciated. Pretty sure the car came with a few ads itself too.

Original 3rd Gen T4R Advertisements

These are awesome man. I like “the answering machine for the call of the wild”. Can’t get much more late 90’s/early 00’s.

This website has a bunch of the TV and brochure ads for the 3rd gens (and paint codes and some cool spec sheets)

Funny you say that, just snagged this pic on Friday. Old coworker has a nice JDM collection and took his drift missile to work on my last day

Those were great, plus I loved the commercials. I remember driving a 94 SR5 4runner back in HS and when the 3rd gens came out, I obsessed over them.

I've been through three 3rd gens and currently have had my 2000 for over 10 years. Best and most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.

I also have all the 3rd (and 2nd) gen brochures for each year, but haven't gotten around to scanning them.

Every car I've owned, I've tracked down the brochure, when I sell the car I keep the brochure. Sometimes it takes me 2 years to find them!

Thanks everyone, I thought you guys would enjoy them. It's pretty neat to see them as our 3rd gens move from late model used cars to classics.

Yep, eBay is where I've bought all of them. I have some 4th gen ones on the way too that I'll post when they show up.

Sometimes googling for them can lead you to what magazine, month and year they came in and then you can buy that whole magazine on eBay also.

I don't need a 3rd 4Runner, but if one came up in that color around me I'd probably end up buying it also...

They are pretty awesome. I know I've looked around on this site before for 4Runner and Supra stuff, but it's been awhile. It's a really good collection of brochures and OEM information.

Collecting ads

I believe I have collected every 4Runner print ad ever made, except for one from 1987 that i can not find. There are also 11 ads that i am fairly sure never made it to print but i am not 100% sure so i MIGHT be missing those as well.

I am about 33% of the way to collecting every 4runner diecast car ever made. I have all matchbox, hot wheels, 2/3rds of Majorette, 2/3rds of Tomy, 3/4 of Nylint. It is struggle to find the overseas Hilux Surf models at a decent price.

I have all first gen sales brochures 1984-1989, all first generation year sales brochures and 2015 sales brochure. I also have the Trekker brochure.

I have a 1984 owners manual. Trying to get the 1984 repair manual at a decent price.

I have all known first generation magazine articles except for one. There are probably a couple i’m not aware of. This also includes Trekker, Breaker Breaker and Trailblazer articles.

So, lol. yeah.
