Huge bummer, sorry to hear this. It's always tough to see one of these bite the dust, especially a well taken care of example. All the best on the recovery.

Glad you are ok. You can always replace a rig with another one.

Well, took a few months to get everything sorted but found a great condition 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport to be my next yota. I'm sure I'll still pop in from time to time, but you can come find me on Tacomaworld too.

Cheers, y'all!

Thanks Mike!

New rig is a 2014 TRD Sport 4x4, double cab with the short bed. PO put what I believe to be a Bilstein 6112/5160 suspension kit on it with a heavy duty rear leaf pack. Has KO2s on 3rd gen tacoma wheels, a trailer brake controller, bed stiffeners, and the leer cap, which I don't need but am going to see how I like since it is practical. Otherwise, this thing is fairly stock and only has about 80k miles on it, so I plan to enjoy many years with this truck.

No big plans just yet, the setup is honestly quite close to what I'll make use of. I might consider some more baller suspension down the road but the billies are doing great so far. Maybe a rack on top of the cab in case I get rid of the leer cap at some point.

Sad to see another fellow T4R member go. Congrads on your 2014 purchase, and being in good health after the accident after the accident to to make that purchase!
My friend has a Taco extra cab 2013 that he enjoys very much.

I worry about totaling the rig at someone elses hand every time I'm driving around. I can control my driving. I cannot control how other people drive. I can only anticipate how they could ruin my day.

Just today, I had 2 drivers merge into my lane at speed without looking, causing me to lay on my horn and do a hard brake to avoid a collision. And 1 driver do an abrupt u-turn about 25 yards in front of me.

If I lost my rig it would be really hard to find another 99-00 that's in the similar shape of my current rig that doesn't cost $6k+.

Good luck to you as you have your new adventures in your Taco!
