Talking 3rd Gen built 1UZFE + turbo + r150 swap

For those who are interested in following along:

Yes, I know this project makes no sense at all
That’s why I love it. I really enjoy weird builds and being different.

It’s going to be a slow project, so I really don’t want anyone getting overly excited and looking for daily updates or anything. I’m very much in a mode of parts-collecting right now and getting my ducks in a row.

I’ll post here periodically.

The plans are, in a nutshell:

- Fully forged and studded 1991 1uz with 9.5:1 CR
- ported heads, kelford cams, springs, retainers, oversized valves
- borg Warner s366
- 1000cc injectors, walbro 450 in tank pump, aeromotive regulator all -8 fuel line,
- built r150f with supra final drive
- megasquirt ecu

What adapter are you gonna use for the R150?

I’ve been debating doing this for a long ass time.

You and me both! I’ve been thinking about this since 2018. Just seems logical in this truck.

As much as I love the 5vz, these trucks just scream in need for more power

Will follow along for sure. Do you know if these pieces of the puzzle fit without welding or changing the frame or you're going to "find out" the hard way?

Thanks! No frame modifications will be needed, thank goodness.

Retaining A/C and P/S makes things a little tighter with the hot side of the turbo system. But, there's still room. Little tricks like remote mounting oil filter help out.

But our frame rails are plenty wide, it'll go in no prob
