Steering wheel has gotten fairly slick

I can always try some sort of cover but does anyone have a way to restore tackiness? It's not lotion or something like that. Think it's just got 20 years of use.

Skin up, bra: Leather Steering Wheel Covers Manufacturer and Distributor
You can't really restore what is missing. That 20 YO leather is thin and tired.

I also bought a wheelskins cover from the link above. I went with tan & black and turned out well. I have scratched the leather off a few places but still looks good after 5 years of use so can't complain. It does take a good 30 minutes to sew it onto your wheel and it's worth doing it right the first time as you'll have to look at any mistakes you make for years to come lol.

Yup I just buy cheap wheel covers and throw them away when they start to go bad. Seems to be the best fix as others users have suggested.
