TransGO kit anyone?

who else has installed this Transgo reprogramming kit and can speak to what you felt before and after?

let's hear from people who have installed this to have a good thread of peoples experiences.

Chris ( @T4topher ) installed this kit on his 4runner.

check out the video!

I concur, it's fantastic if you have a supercharger. I used your writeup with good results, up until the valve body slipped out of my hand and the check balls fell all over the garage. If one is not supercharged, there's not really any point to it.

Truck shifts are good enough, I don't know what the Race shifts springs do but it's firm enough that I don't really care to know. Replacing with some high quality synthetic trans fluid makes the kit work even better.

I have a different position about said and here is way, Even stock trans benefit by firming up the shifts, from the factory the auto trans with clutch packs are set up to slip a little as they engage the gears. What i mean is the line pressures to lower so the clutch pack don't grab immediately, this makes the shift feel smooth and soft because the consumers do not wont a hard shift into gear. This slipping/soft line pressure slowly wears the clutch packs, think of it like rubber two pieces of sand paper together, the lighter pressure u apply the easier u can move them across each other but u also loose more grit from the paper, the harder the quicker the grit bits into the other... u also don't want to hard shifts as the forces/energy is dispersed through out the whole system

Getting mixed messages from typo in your sig

Hadn't heard of this kit before, your thread looks interesting thanks. I was just watching some Australian youtube the other day about valve body upgrades for the A750, they sell some sort of bolt on replacement down there that looks very easy. Hadn't thought about the A340.

Would be helpful for towing too right? Like what that ECT button tries to acheive? Probably heat buildup and maybe mpg even?

I've towed after the kit and did not help with MPG. Any heat reduction would be minimal as it's changing it from a three-quarters second shift to a quarter second shift. Just doesn't make a difference. What does make a huge difference in reducing your transmission temps while driving is turning overdrive off.

The kit is great for those looking for more power through shorter shifts. Most people won't like it though as the 1-2 shift is so fierce in the winter when the engine is cold it will literally jolt the entire vehicle, including the driver. A few times it was so severe I thought someone hit the rear end of the vehicle.
