Front Strut Toyota part number ?

Hello,
I am replacing my original front struts on my 99 4Runner SR5 V-6 enigne- 2WL drive, with 16 inch wheels and the Toyota dealership is very confused on the front strutts. They gave me part # 48510-39585 with a STAMP part on the strut as 48510-35100 but this shock in 2-3 inches shorter than my original shock. They even looked up the VIN number and said that's the correct part.

I have taken the driver side strutt out and the part number stamped on my strut is 48510-35070. I took it to the dealership and they are going to put in another order. Even the shock rubber bushings look different on the one they sold me.

I even looked online and there's 3-4 different part numbers ,Does anyone know the correct part number?

Thanks for the help!

Looks to me they sold you the REAR shocks not the front struts.

Look here: Front Suspension for 1999 Toyota 4Runner | Toyota of Cool Springs vParts

You'll find the 39585 listed for the rear. Your's s/b 48510-39436 for the fronts.

Thanks for the reply....Yeah I saw the parts diagram and saw the 48510- 39585 and it's confusing, because all the parts also apply to the Front shocks! It also has the 48510-39436 for the front Left and Right. The Dealer said they have ordered the part and will be in a coule of days. The one the sold me only came with 1 bushing....but looking at the parts diagram, it looks like the shocks should come with 2 bushings and retaining washers, right?

Thanks again!

Yes confusing yet look at the list of part carefully. Notice the pic diagram at top, then the list of parts, now another pic diagram except this one is of the rear components, then the list of rear parts.

Even though it is in a section for Front Suspension it includes the Rear Suspension too. Yet each part is labeled front, rear, upper, lower, so read descriptions carefully. I can see how parts counter folks get mixed up too.
