I'm pissed with you, I had this happen to me quite a while ago. Not as much stuff but it was all my hand tools, including like jig saws, drills, all that kind of stuff. Never got any of it back. it still stings when I think about it.

one thing I do now, once a year a go around and video inventory all my stuff so I could remember all the stuff if I was able to file a claim.

The sad fact is most of us have large deductibles, because in the end insurance is about catastrophic loss. they usually take less than the deductible.

I have a couple of flash drives with the different years, I only keep a couple on backlog but still.

anybody who steals others things... it boils my blood.

kind of an update.....nothing to report. Plus the place was not securely locked....family place, rural dead end road, usually someone is home, big dog..troppers asked if I thought it might have been someone who knew the place....like a contractor that was in during the past few months or my grandsons X and her new boyfriend.
And since they did leave some stuff behind and did not enter either dwelling, the troopers think they were scared off. But then again, the dwellings had barking dogs.

Since then I have gone through everything major I have and took pictures and pictures of the serial numbers. Then did the same in my dwelling. Any receipt I still have is secured, My son has since done the same. Every tool I buy from this point out will get engraved. Security cameras now in place ( with big signs) as well as trail cams in the woods in case they take out the security cameras....if they come back.

so folks take pictures, keep receipts, engrave. and as mentioned in another post above, even take pictures of all your tools in your tool box. like with the drawer open

Inventory with the pictures and receipts is definitely a big help along with serials. Great information to pass on to others to help reduce losses from the thieves of this world
