Any reason you're sticking with those?

With a few simple nearly free mods, the issues with the donut can pretty much be completely resolved.
Next thing being that there is no such thing as an American made LED flashlight. The flashlight body itself can be, but as far as I'm aware not a single manufacturer in the US produces LEDs.
Science alert.
Honestly at this point I've practically given up on LEDs at a technology. Realistically they are inferior to incandescent lighting in every way except for energy efficiency. But see that's the problem, they're not just better, you're trading off light quality purely for energy efficiency. This problem is similar to the whole problem with audio quality right now. Most people don't even have a clue how much they're being ripped off nowadays. I've met so many people that have problems sleeping and when I ask them it basically turns out that they've got daylight bulbs everywhere in the house and use them up until bedtime. No no no.
You don't need 6500k lights. That's just completely impractical and bad for your health honestly. And because just about every LED bulb is extremely cheap and poor quality, the color rendering is horrible. I've spent several hundred dollars converting just about everything in my house over to 95+ cri quality led bulbs. Mostly 2700k to 3000k. I even have 1700k bulbs for late at night use. The difference in light quality is just astounding and once you see the difference you really don't want to go back.
People don't think about this kind of stuff but it really does make a big difference. Once it hits about 6:00 I switch over from 4,000 k to 2700k. This makes it significantly easier to become sleepy as your brain knows that "daylight is day time". Where's when it becomes late it becomes more and more warm in terms of light temperature.
I've spent dozens of hours looking but there does not seem to exist a 3000k (or close to it) 90+ CRI led that is user replaceable.
Not to mention that most LED lights now days are extremely lacking in the thermal control department. It doesn't really matter to incandescent since it's going to be hot no matter what and that's what it's designed to do.
Science alert over.
So anyway, for me to practically incandescent flashlights just make more sense, are infinitely repairable, and are more practical in terms of late night use and preserving night vision.

So it's easy to grab and also isn't flying around all over the truck and turns and stuff like that? Just seems like a good idea I thought.

I mean let's be real, 1600 lumens is just way too much. And I can almost promise you that it's probably something like 6,000k and probably has an extremely poor CRI. So not only is it going to ruin your night vision, it's just straight up blinding and harsh. Plus I can't imagine something that powerful lasting for a very long time.
Realistically, for nighttime use, 50 to 200 lumens is more than sufficient. Especially when the light is around 2700-3000k.
All of my modded (C/D cell) mag lites can run for 30 hours or more based on testing. More than enough, and since I can replace the bulb if I ever need to, they effectively have an infinite lifespan
Anyway, let's get back to mounting talks!
