It also is frustrating to see M62 superchargers for other makes and models go for $250 or less and a TRD M62 go for 15x the price.

Kinda crazy isn’t it. It almost just makes regearing a more viable option really when you get down to the cost of it and for no more power than the current supercharger adds.

Worst part is, the blower isn’t really big enough anyway, and it’s not intercooled. I’m sure Toyota had their reasons when they engineered it, but it seems to me like overall it was a huge miss.

On the other hand, I got this rig about 7 yrs ago and have driven it over 80,000 miles. It’s the same muffler it came with and I don’t know how old it was then. I also can’t tell what kind it is. It just looks like a rust-colored oval - no logo or anything as far as I can tell.

If I swap it, I’m inclined to go OEM because I’d like it quiet like now, but I’m also open to suggestions because the OEM at Camelback is nearly $500.

Thanks as always for help & advise -

Also, I’m in northern CA on the coast. No snow unless I seek it out, and no salted roads. The vehicle came from Sacramento.

As long as it’s not rattling, or rusted through and making lots of noise, just run it. If there’s any chance that it’s plugged, the converters would be plugged also with the vehicle running horrendously.

Unless it’s broken and noisy or your looking for a different sound, leave it.
