Rear Window Binding

I need help with my rear window. I went to roll it down today and heard a clunk and it would no longer roll up or down. I took the panels off and the passenger side arm popped out of the plastic piece in the track. I reattached it and now it will only roll up about 3/4 of the way. Rolls down fine.

It looks like the driver side is binding on the way up but can't tell what it's hitting. The gears and arms look to be twisting when it stops on the way up, that's what makes me think it hitting something or binding.

Rear key holder

Is your rear key holder (the piece that receives the key) in place? Mine fell down. When I lowered the rear window it got stuck on the piece that had fallen down. I think it's a common problem. I removed the plastic molding from the inside, and JB welded the rear key holder back into place, and it resolved the issue....now the rear window goes up and down without hitting anything.

If this is your very rear window your going to have to remove the plastic panel and the metal plate on the rear hatch. From experience this is not easy.

There are two gears that the window arms are attached to, they have to be aligned (see this video for view of them). I suggest checking on these parts for proper alignment and lubrication. If you haven't lubricated the window track do so.

I found a white plastic part that looks like it protects the key on the inside. It was jammed up against the window. I removed it and seems to be ok for now.
