Thanks Joe! I've been thinking about a diff drop actually, but we'll see when the time comes.

Those LC's look promising, but I'd have to see if they'd work. Some say that they give up to or more than 3" of lift, which might be problematic for me with no current weight in the back

Edit: as I was writing this Zhehan posted that they'd be a bit too much, so I guess not

I'd like to go with 2.5-3 inches of lift, which I believe the TRDs will give me in the front, but now I'd like some input on what to do next. I am going to get 5100s in the rear, but the coil question is the main thing here.

I've seen a few FB posts in my area of people selling different rear coils, so I'm interested in those.

There's one guy selling OME 891s, which I've read give 2-3 inches of lift WITH 150lbs in the back for less than new.
@Iron duke is also selling some extended travel 5100s which I'm tempted to get, but would that be too much?

OR am I better off just getting a set of 890s with the normal 5100s? Looking for some ideas or better options
If you want new suspension, get the best one with the money you have. I'm really not a big fan of my Billy setup. The digressive valving is not great for what I do, and I like a soft cloudlike ride. This is why I'm either going to rebuild and revalve a set of Icons, my buddy is selling me or go to Fox with the progressive valving. That being said, my setups will give you about 2-2.5" lift up front and about 3" lift in the back. It's really good if you ever want to get a drawer system, or fabricated rear bumper.

I was thinking that, I know I commented on there saying I didn't have enough money, but I got my paycheck the day after lol

I might get your extended 5100s, but I might need a few days to think

Would the extended 5100s and 890s be a good pairing with my 5100s/TRDs in the front?

I'd go with regular 5100's if you only want to go with the 890's. The extended ones will require extending the bumpstops, which will decrease your downtravel. That is not something you want to do with only ~2.5" lift

I found the 890s on amazon and want to get the 5100s there too so I don't have to pay for shipping or anything.

Are these the correct 5100s?

Yep. Those are the correct shocks for that application.

speaking from a budget stand point. for my setup i have the 890s and 5100s. Front setup was 5100 on 2nd perch with stock springs.

I did the diff drop and also replaced Lower Balls Joints to be save. All that new stress on old parts didn't sit well with me.

I'm happy with my choices. Then again i'm not a weekend overlander. I just wanted something other than stock appearance.

Hijacking a semi-recent semi-relevant thread with a noob question of my own (1997 4x4 SR5). I'm in the process of replacing my worn out stock suspension with 5100s front and back, with 906 coils in the back and reusing my stock 4x4 springs up front. I bought a pair of new front strut mounts from Wheeler's. The description for the front 5100s says to also buy this set of new stem washers and cushions, but when I look at the Application Data for them, it says 1998+ 4Runner. Are these what I need, or do I need something else? I plan to have a shop assemble the coilovers for me as I don't want to mess with that myself.

Thanks in advance for the help.
