air lift or firestone
so im asking about rear assist . bags on a 3rd gen. I have used the air lift on a previous 3re gen and i had no problems. however my son runs firestone on his ford and his taco.. another friend I was bull shit*ing with said only run firestone. On a previous 4runner I did a 3 inch lift from sonoran steel ...with bags and he supplies firestone. cost wise for a semi stock 3rd gen...within pennies
thoughts ?
btw...if you do any tailer stuff or carry monster loads....bags are helpfull...i know first hand on that

I bet the same company makes both bags, just puts red dye in one and blue in the other
I believe they are comparable. My air lifts have been great for 5+ years.

I like having bags, especially with on-board air, for heavy loads. It looks so much better without all the sag. I don’t tow, but I’ve had a couple times where I haven’t blown the bags up and I’ve hit the rear bump stops (bumpy-ass CA roads), and then blowing them up after they don’t hit any more. As far as firestone vs airlift, my right firestone bag has a pretty good leak that I can tell isn’t in the air lines. Their customer service so far has been awful.

I run air lift, however when I was buying them I did a lot of research and concluded they really are all the same I just got a better deal on the airlift.

They just bolt in where the bumpstops go. You can space them closer or further from the axle with washers and a spacer in the kit. I used to have a set of timbrens on my truck and they were good. But I opted for bags and durobumps.

Accepted. I had airlift on my truck but got tired of having to air up or drain them. On another site they were talking about the tembrens. I got them installed and I love them. No more squat and truck handles better.

I have the Classic System 1.2 lift kit from Sonoran Steel. Anyone know the air lift or firestone model number for Toyota 80 Series LC Coils?

(just had front struts and springs replaced now the rear is sagging. Was level prior but my baby has 247k and was still running the original suspension!)

Timbren only makes bump stops, not bags. (their whole marketing thing is to eliminate the 'maintenance' of bags...)

Been using Airlift bags since 2014. I have run them as high as 50psi with a 500lb tongue weight. I wheel like my rig owes me money, and haven't had an issue yet.
