3rd gen fuel tank strap length

Fueling up yesterday the strap holding the rear of the fuel tank failed due to rust. Thankfully I was a couple blocks from home and managed to strap it up.

Trying to find a replacement today and looking like it will be quite the wait.

I am thinking I will just make one and I am hoping someone can do me a solid and measure the overall length of their rear tank strap and approximate length between bends. Mine in completely gone to use as a reference.

Any help greatly Appreciated. Thanks T4R.

I mostly just replace with a new oem strap as they come with the rubber cover too. You can also buy aftermarket straps.

Unfortunately, I think I used my spare strap for the gas tank. I look tommorrow to see if it's still in inventory not 100% sure at this time.

I didn’t actually measure it but the one I got from rock auto was listed at 28 1/4” and it fit perfect

Rock auto has just the straps for under $20. About to order one myself, dropped the skid the other day and the tank came with it haha.
