All the book says is “positive battery voltage.”

I know a guy who is close to me that buys these generation 4Runners and parts them out.

He gets pallets of west coast rear ends and other parts all the time.

If you need a compressor, hit me up. I have a good one cheap.

Sorry for the delayed response, need to get an appendicitis today; so I'll try to get you diagrams and information late tonight or tomorrow depending on how I feel.

And battery voltage is roughly whatever your battery is currently at. i.e. if the vehicle is running it'll be in the 13-ish volt range and if the vehicle is not running it should be about 12.6 ish volts on a good battery, but in general they're looking for basically over 11.4v key on engine off at minimum with at least 12v being the ideal minimum.

So, the 5v seen with the amplifier plugged in engine at idle, max cool AC on is not ideal?

Let's see battery voltage is 12 to 13 volts. You are measuring 5v. Provided your meter is set properly. Then the answer is no. It's not 12 to 13v

What does the manual say to do if it's not 12 to 13v. (Battery voltage)?

Alright sorry for the delay; apparently my appendix almost burst Saturday and I've been recovering from surgery.

Here's a '99 Manual A/C wiring diagram as promised; I'll have to go through it when my brain isn't fogged with meds and pain.
