Add issues

Don’t know if anyone has had this issue before but my 3rd gen 2000 4runner has been acting weird there’s a loud clicking in the passenger kick panel took it apart and it’s the transmission relay I guessing for add it clicks nonstop in 2high as soon as I put in 4high it stop and the 4x4 light stays bright green if i put it in 2wd clicking starts and the 4x4 light gets dim and blinks in 4x4 blue solenoid is getting vacuum and in 2wd blue is getting vacuum and brown is trying to get vacuum but clicking and stuttering it’s weird I changed solenoids and that relay still same issue anyone has any knowledge!! Please help

it's a multipurpose relay swap it out with one in the engine bay fuse box and see if it eliminates the clicking. If so, then put in a new denso or Toyota relay.

SR5 or Limited? Assuming SR5 since you are probably talking about the ADD relay in the passenger footwell...

Hey yes it’s 2000 sr5 j shifter so what it does is it has constant voltage to blue solenoid and when I switch it it stays on blue and and brown jumps erratically but power never stops going to blue vsv valve, if I change the hoses it does engage and disengage

The SR5 system is ridiculously simple. You have already verified the mechanical side of the system works, which is good.

Now you just need to check the transfer case position switches, then the ADD relay operation. Once of those is bad, most likely.
