I was wondering if anyone out there has purchased any 0.25" - 1" plates with NO studs, just holes / slots for the OEM studs to fit through?

If You did use one of these plates, which thickness will still provide enough bite for the wheel nuts to grab the lugs? I am going this route to avoid the aftermarket studs found on larger wheel spacers. I am just trying to move the wheel face over a tad to fit 33" with no UCA rub, not really for looks.

I understand that if you install the studded wheel spacers that they wont necessarily come loose; but I have seen the literal studs snap and wheels roll down the highway. Those aftermarket studs on the spacers seem to not handle the fatigue well over time.

You will only sway me if you can find me forged hub+lug centric (same as OEM fitment) with ARP / forged studs. Else wise I think the spacer plates make more sense with perhaps just buying longer OEM studs...

Let me know if you are out there and have experience with the non studded spacer plates.

The stock wheel studs aren’t long enough to go more than 1/4” inch spacer safely. Even if you have longer studs a thicker spacer will stick out past the centering bore portion of the hub face so you won’t be hubcentric anymore.

Spacers with studs have come a long way since the sketchiness when they first came out. A lot of those failures were due to installation error and not retorqueing them shortly after installation like you’re supposed to. Stick with a known brand like spider trax and I doubt you’ll have any issues with them.

I have a set of what are often called "wheel shims," which are 3mm thick (roughly 1/8"). They're intended to help fit wheels around brake calipers if you're rubbing, so if you're looking for just a little extra bump in that regard that's what I'd look into, you can find them in hub-centric.
If you were looking to widen your track width and don't want 1.25" spacers I suggest looking into wheels with a different offset. Otherwise I don't see why you wanna avoid them, I kinda wish I got them instead of just wider wheels
