Confused w/ Toyota Matrix 115v outlet install

I got everything I needed for the Matrix 115 outlet at the junkyard and have everything wired and understood except for the most important part: I don't know where the power comes from here.

This mod consists of four parts: The 115v button, the relay, the inverter and the outlet itself.

115V Button:

The wire colors are not here so I'll translate them over.

1 - Green - Negative Battery terminal
2 - Wht/Blk - Connects to post 2 on the relay (Negative wire from switch to relay)
3 - Pink/Wht - Connects to post 1 on the relay (Positive from switch to relay)
4 - Wht/Blk - Cig. Illum light
6 - Pink - Connects to post 3 on the relay (Power to relay) (this wire is the one that gets power when the button is pressed)

Relay:

Some other details: it's in a shape akin to ||=.

Pin 3 is at the left with Pin 5 to its' right. Next to those are two more prongs. From top to bottom, Pin 2 and Pin 1.

Pin 1 - Positive wire from switch to relay
Pin 2 - Ground from button
Pin 3 - Switched power from switch to relay
Pin 5 - Power to #3 wire on inverter when button is pressed

Inverter:

1 - Green/Blk - Ground to outlet
2 - Green/Wht - Power to outlet
3 - Green - Power from relay pin 5
4 - Wht/Blk - Ground

Where I think I've messed up here is something with the wiring with the relay but i'm not sure where exactly I have. I've asked before about wiring for my relay (OEM 90080-87010) and was told that Pin 1 is +12 VDC and Pin 2 is ground (both from the button). Pin 3 is +12VDC from the battery but I have also seen it should be the switched power wire from the switch, which could go where the positive SHOULD be on the relay, but that leaves me with an extra wire.

Help? I can answer any questions if needed.

Pin 1 and 2 on the relay are the two wires the energize it.

In America pin 2 is ground or neutral pin 2 would go to a good ground.

Pin 1 would be 12v from a switch or button.

Pin 3 is the power source from the battery and pin 5 goes to your inverter power source.

Toyota does stuff backwards sometimes so pin 2 could be + and pin 1 could be negative.

Yeah, I figured that was where I messed up. However that leaves the extra positive relay wire coming from the button, where do you think that'll go?

What’s the extra wire? It sounds like there’s only four wires or are there actually five wires? The relay should just be these four things:
Positive from switch
Ground
Positive from battery
Output to inverter

When the switch is on and the relay gets that 12v signal then it closes and sends the power from battery to the inverter. You need both the power from the battery and the power from the switch connected to make it work.

the extra is on the switch that toggles the power to the inverter. From my research the switch or button has a positive wire going to the relay and a negative, but also the 12v switched wire that provides the power to the inverter. If the power switch wire is supposed to go to the positive lead on the relay I'm not sure where the main positive relay wire is supposed to go.

The power for the inverter shouldn’t come from the button. The relay is the switch that sends power to the inverter. So you need:

12v switched power to pin 1
Ground to pin 2
12v direct from battery to pin 3
Line to inverter pin 5

The button just turns the relay on and the relay sends power from the battery to the inverter

Okay, I'll try it. Thanks!

Some switches are two pole.

Is the switch illuminated?

Any switched ignition wire can be used for powering the switch to turn the relay on and off. It looks like this drawing is using the old rear heater switch to turn on a relay to feed the inverter. Or it can come strait from the battery if you want to be able to use the inverter with the key off.
