Baja Rack Brackets don't line up/fit. ???

Calling all you guys who have Baja racks. The weather was finally just close enough for me to be able to do the install today. It's been about an hour cleaning up some of the bolts that were loose and putting them back on with silicone and all that good stuff. When I got to the point where I installed the brackets I thought to myself "the middle ones are definitely shorter than the other ones", but I figured that it would make sense when the rack was up there.

Well, no... There's a good half to three quarter inch gap between the Middle brackets and the rack. There's absolutely no way to bolt these up. But the thing is that I don't know if it's the middle brackets that are wrong, or if the other brackets are wrong and they're too tall?

Has anyone ever seen this before? Am I losing my mind? Lol

That's interesting. I did not run into this issue when installing mine (7 years ago). Couple different things you could do here. First is obviously contact Baja Rack (or whatever retailer you got it from) and swap those brackets out for different ones. Second would be to add some spacers/washers between the two brackets to take up the space and run bolts that are long enough and call it a day. I would definitely contact Baja Rack anyway even if decide to run that specific rack, send them some pictures and bring it to their attention. I think they are a pretty good company and would probably like to know of any quality control issues that are making out of their shop. I've had no issues with my rack and have an ARB awning mounted to it. Love it. Hope you get yours figured out!

Edited.

Okay well that makes me feel better that it wasn't just me. Yeah I will reach out to them Monday. I'm curious what the issue will end up being...
