Replacement dashboards

Hi,

I find myself having to replace much of the AC system, including a part that I'm told is inside the dashboard.

I figure that while I've got the dashboard out/off, I might as well replace it with a new one since the current one has a nasty rip in it.

Are these available as aftermarket items? Dealer items?

Any recommendations would be most welcome.

Mike,

justdashes.com may be able to take care of you.

They have a process where they can vacuum form a new cap over your existing dash and have it look like new.

I have no idea what it would cost, but it's worth looking into.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

That looks like a good place to get dashboards. My friend might need one for his incoming 4Runner project. It's in the shop for the installation of the new brake pads and tires from 4Wheelonline. Interior mods will be next.

incase someone told you the dash needs to come out to do this job, You absolutely do not need to remove the dashboard to remove the easily accessible evaporator and Switching valve, you only need to remove the glovebox, its a pretty easy job, of course you'll need a new dryer receiver aswell as a vacuum pump and recharge kit.

I would add also you just as well roll in a new condenser and dryer up front while you’re there evacuated also. I think it’s probably the easiest condenser and receiver dryer I’ve ever replaced in my life.
