Front Flexible Brake Line

I noticed the other day that the rubber on my front brake lines is cracked. Anyone know of a good quality brake line replacement for the front brakes? They're like $100 from the dealer and $8 from RockAuto so it seems like there must be a middle of the road option.

If the hoses from Rock Auto are a decent brand, I wouldn't worry about it.

I splurged on SS Braided brake lines. (I needed longer lines because of my lift.)

Stoptech is definitely a reputable brand for sure. The link I left you is for Wheelers Off-Road. I've got the same ones in the front and rear. Either or are a great choice.

Those Wheeler ones would be nice in black and the extra protection of the pvc coating.

I bought the front StopTech SS lines off the Walmart website. I bought the rear StopTech lines (+2”) from Low Range Off Road because they were only $36 shipped, cheaper than from Walmart.

I bought OEM brake hoses from Amayama a few years ago. They were slightly over 1/2 of Toyota USA's ripoff price.

I have a set of these been waiting to go on. They look to be very high quality. I have installed a few sets of Steel braided lines, and they look as good or better than anything else I have installed.

Go for it. Maybe if you post an install thread it will give me the motivation to install these lines I have sitting on the shelf for like 3 years...

I had cracked lines on both front calipers. Putting new lines on firmed up my brakes and eliminated the brake pull.

I still need to do the rear line.

Front flex lines do not need to be extended due to lift, it's a fallacy. Only the rear line does.

I think only my rear lines were longer (+2”). I did the install a couple years ago, so I don’t remember all the details.
