Easy DIY Airbag Installation - load leveling / towing

Not for the hardcore wheelers, but knocked out an airbag install on my sons 3rd gen (Had the same setup on my white 3rd gen for many, many years before my oldest destroyed it

It is perfect if you want to level a load or tow often and can't stand the saggy ass look. Rides significantly better under load too.

Best part is, you can do the whole thing for under $300. Bags, compressor... all of it. Old setup never let me down, never had a bag issue. Hope this helps some of you looking to do the same! And yep, I have had a youtube for years. Random BS channel of whatever I happen to be doing at the moment. A thumbs up like and comments are always appreciated as they help my tiny channel grow.

Lol Define Hardcore wheeling? I wheel mine like it owes me money... The bags have held up for over 2 years, and way to many hard sends...

I am thinking of doing this mod. I have a full Dobinson MRA lift front and rear. However, I didn't buy heavy springs as I don't run any bumpers or anything crazy. But of course I carry gear when wheeling/camping. So I tend to bottom out in the rear when doing faster speed driving and hit some minor dips and such even when adjusting my LSC and HSC to be stiffer.

Do the bags effectively increase spring load rate kind of like having a heavier spring? How do you think it would work with higher speed driving in the desert? Nothing Baja 1000 like but doing 30-40 on washboards and some minor whoops?

they help a lot, in my opinion as I have run some serious loads.

however you might want to ask this in the 4th gen section, if your asking about your 4th gen

I originally did this to prevent the Moog springs I was installing from sagging, work great to get rid of the bounce and sag when loading up… just swapped em into the new OME’s, mostly because you have to cut down the jounce bumper and the plumbing was already done.
