Exclamation 3rd Gen seat upgrade/Swap

Having a helluva time finding relative info to the question... ready to upgrade my 01 seats to a newer model Taco or 4R... I'm sure there will be some issues with mounting lineup...but I have a local fab shop who can assist there...

Have any of you done a seat swap for a newer model? What difficulties did you run in to? Any model seat swap for that matter.

Picking mine up from being painted tomorrow. Seat upgrade to follow very soon.

Hate asking questions to something that may have been covered numerous times before.... but I did use the search feature first.

22 Cement Gray teaser for attention.

Are new seats your priority? I got a set of Wet okole seat covers and my seats look brand new. I can post pics if interested?

Seats out of a newer Tacoma or 4runner are likely too wide to fit in a 3rd gen. There's a few people who have done BMW seat swaps that look pretty good. There's a few threads on here.

I cleaned mine really well using a carpet cleaner and they look and feel about like new, even at 292k miles.

theres this one BMW E90 3-series Seat Swap

he used seats out of an e90 but also some info about f30 seats

but as said earlier the newer Toyota seats may be too wide for a 3rd gen

Just do new cushions and cover to your taste. Lower and upper cushions are available. I did aftermarket lowers, and OEM uppers.

I put 1st gen Subaru BRZ / Scion FRS seats in mine. SUPER comfy and fit me like a glove! They're very narrow with the bolsters BTW.
The rails were just a tad narrower than stock, so I took the stock feet and made brackets to bring the mounting surface about an inch narrower and bolted them to the Subaru rails.
