Exclamation Shrockworks appears to be out of business.

I created a FB burner account to follow storm damage in an area that I have a property and the all-knowing algorithm hooked me up with this info.

RIP to another small 3rd Gen Fab company.

That explains why their site is "undergoing routine maintenance".......that sucks

That's wild. There's a company that seems to have dropped the ball on custom headlight orders. Can't think of the name at the moment but if I heard it, I could verify. There's a thread on it here in the 3rd gen section, too. I don't have personal experience with either company, but the reviews seem to really be disheartening.

I'm not a business person, but it seems to be rather a simple concept not to take on more than you can handle. You're taking people's money and the people aren't receiving their product for months on months on months. Sounds like atrocious business practices to me and I would have nothing to do with them.

That's quite unfortunate. My rear bumper of theirs is really well made. I'd been meaning to contact them about getting a replacement latch, but I guess that's out of the question now.

Lets be real - too much business/orders do Not kill a business.

Poor business practices such as taking too much money out for one's self or others stealing from it is a far more likely scenario.

If they had too much business, a good business would simply hire more folks, wouldn't you?

Have you not seen the hiring crisis we are in with the economy right now? My company has been struggling hard to keep up with the business our business development department has been bringing in. I'm responsible partly for training new hires and it's tough finding good labor right now. Things are exacerbated even worse by the crazy inflation rates we are seeing right now. It's getting rather hard for companies to provide adequate pay for the skill required for a job.

I think you're thinking of bxbuilt headlights. Which is a poor business model that prioritizes people with online clout over everyone else, makes no attempt to appease their customers, and even has the nerve to email people that have been waiting months to see if they want to pay extra in order to get their headlights sooner. Combine that with rumors of shutting their facility down for multiple days for holidays and even a week for a wedding and it paints a poor picture of their business management and business model.

This. I tell people this all the time. I mean The only exception I would say for current time would be if they just literally could not hire people. My last company had an extremely hard time hiring project managers; took them over a year just to hire one PM.

Shrockworks often had a 3-month lead time, even pre-COVID. It clearly isn't a COVID or recent thing. It is a horrible problem in the off-road world in general... take $$$ early, take too long to deliver, run out of $$$ in the mean time and go out of business.

I have no idea of the specifics of this instance though. I am glad I got my front bumper and sliders from them years ago though... good quality though long lead time.

Should not be too hard to find a similar replacement , I do not remember the company who makes them off hand / ATM.

Sure people know there are still several option out there but it's never good to have reduced choice and industry consolidation. Quality generally goes down and price goes up along with lead times.

YES, that is exactly who I'm thinking of. And you literally could not have said it any better. I see it allllll over Instagram, the folks with online clout repping those headlights and such. That is poor, poor customer service. And the audacity to ask their customers if they want to pay additional fees to have their orders bumped up? What kind of joke is that? All the more reason I would never deal with a company like that. That's just sad.

Additionally, what is Shrockworks going to do with the money from their sales that haven't been fulfilled yet? Are they reimbursing their customers?

That might be the best course of action. As it would solve the issues at hand..

Yes - it is the craziest thing that folks simply do not want to work. Read an article the other day saying there are 7 Million males in the US that do not seek employment. Just lazy?

My only question is, how do they survive, off their parents? This is a 21st century problem, don't recall there not being enough workers in the past...
