Locker light flashing but engaged

98 runner. When I turn the rear locker on it seems to engage and disengage fine and quickly but the light never stops flashing. Not sure if maybe it's not engaged 100% or what the issue could be

Flashing in 4lo means ready to engage and then once the rig starts to roll itt should go solid. You can only engage the locker in 4lo or to engage it on demand, look up blue grey wire mod.

Whenever my locker is engaged the light on the dash is always flashing, its never solid. When it's off the light goes off from flashing. Is that not supposed to be the case?

I've done that mod. It seems to engage and disengage fine just never goes solid and is always flashing.

Supposed to be solid. Or at least has in every other one I've seen with a locker

It could be the locker detection switch on the transmission.

Faulty 3rd Gen eLocker Switch

/\ /\ /\ Pretty sure that will be your issue up there /\ /\ /\. On my factory locker, the light will remain flashing when you press the locker switch until the locker actually engages, then it goes to a solid light. While it's flashing, keep doing S-turns to help it engage, and if you're already into a situaion, be super gentle with it until it goes solid.

Without the limit switch to tell the ECU that the shift collar is actually engaged, it will assume it's still waiting for the teeth to get in the right spot on the collar to engage and keep flashing the 'in progress' light.
