What is something you have made or put for the cargo area in the back of your Runner?

Could it be a Bed? Drawers? Freezer?

I plan to make a sleeping platform with drawers eventually but don't have the time or resources to do so.

closest I've done is swapped the 1999+ cargo area into my 98, makes storage a little bit easier.

I use my trunk area for toolboxes for work. Down the road, I may build a steel box for natural gas tanks so I can run both fuels. And probably reorganize the toolboxes then etc.

I find the diversity of the cargo area and what people use it for interesting. Like a bed. Mini camper etc.

I built a bed platform out of plywood covered in indoor/outdoor no pile carpet and supported by 2x4's. We used this a for a few off-road/camping trips in 2007-09. I think I spent less than $50 on it. It sat right at the wheel well height, full width of the cargo area and allowed for a queen size air mattress. I removed the rear seat backs for a full 6' of length. Some storage underneath was also a thing, but I didn't create drawers. It was super basic and this was before the whole "Overlanding" thing was a thing. It was great for what it was. I had to store it outside, so eventually, it had to be tossed. I'd re-create the same thing if I ever was to do that kind of thing again. But, we're looking at one of those truck bed shaped air mattresses and a vehicle attached tent for a more plush experience with some extra room.
