1.4kw vs 1.8kw denso starter for a manual trans

Can't seem to find a straight answer on why upgrading to 1.8kw denso starter vs 1.4 kw. Seems to me 1.8kw would be the way to go. Input from the community is appreciated in advance. Vehicle is a 1996 sr5 5vz 5 speed.

Not necessary for warmer climates. If you have to change the starter anyway go ahead and get the higher rated one. Doesn't hurt.

The 1.8Kw is slightly longer than the 1.4Kw starter. It will fit, according to info found on this forum as well as many others. Something about a cold weather package vs not cold weather package.

The Denso p/n for the 1.8Kw starter is 280-0166 in case you need it.

Thanks for the info I live in the sierra's so 1.8kw makes the most sense.
