Windshield Wiper Arm UPgrade?

99 Limited.

After putting on new wiper blades, I started thinking that there is a small section of my windshield that doesn't receive the right amount of pressure from the wiper arms. As I was thinking about buying new OEM arms I thought I would check and see if any of you enterprising people found/heard about/or making an upgraded arm that would be "better"?

Thanks,

Bob

You don't need to upgrade anything, you need to replace the spring that forces the arm downward. Last time I asked this forum about this everyone said that it wasn't too expensive to get replacement wiper arms that will include new springs.

The spring inside the wiper arms looks pretty standard, so you can likely get replacements from a hardware store if you want. I don't think it's necessary to upgrade the spring strength, the stock ones work fine for most people.

The force of the arms is spread by the wiper frame itself - the right side base of the window is pretty curvy and hard for beam-style wipers to work on. The older frame style wipers should work just fine if you need that space cleared. There is also room for a longer wiper on the driver's side if that's your thing.

You can run slightly longer blades then the aftermarket says will fit. Off the top of my head I can't recall the length.

I used to run oem. But I am very happy with my higher ends one..

i use a 19" for the LH side and a 18" on the RH side. The 18" touches the RH edge of the windshield so I just trim the blade a wee bit
