The Be All End All to Your Alignment!

What's up 3rd gen 4Runner guys! Let me start with a little introduction. If this isn't allowed here just let me know, I'll move along
My name is Josh and I'm a full time IT guy with a passion for the off-road industry, specifically Toyotas. I own a 1st gen Tacoma that I'm currently SASing..
About a year ago I started KPOffroad with my good buddy Tanner (who some of you may know as TKOffroad) to try to sell some of the parts we had designed while building our trucks. One of the best ideas we had was an alignment kit.

I have threads on Tacomaworld about the kit so I figured I'd dip my toes in the T4R forums.

If any one is interested I sell them on my website:
Best Alignment Cam & Cam Tab Upgrade Kit - KPOffroad.com

Pricing (all with free shipping):
Octagons and bolts only
$103.44

Full Kit Octagons Bolts and Cam Tabs
$132.84

Cam Tabs Only
$87.50

But don't worry, I offer you all 15% off when using the code "T4RAlignment" (without quotes).

If you want more info about my kit then keep reading or leave a comment

How Does Our Kit Differ?
I know of the other similar kits but they all have some issues I couldn't look past. Development began over a year ago when we saw a need for a solid alignment kit that 1) wouldn't roll around like the OEM cams, and 2) had more than 3 adjustment points like some other kits. We found many trucks we worked on would benefit greatly from having more options. This would allow for better stance and longer tire life.

Enter the Octagon!

By using an octagon we were able to allow for 5 points of alignment without compromising durability! One of the many awesome properties of an octagon is opposing parallel sides, so much like a square you will still have 2 solid sides contacting the cam tabs.

We designed these octagonal cams to be a drop-in option for your truck meaning they do not require any modification to the frame.

Weak Cam Tabs
We found these alignment cams to be great for any light to moderate offroading, but in extreme crawling or prerunning cases we noticed the OEM cam tabs would start to bend! We decided to take it a step further and develop a complete upgrade for the cam tabs.

Our cam tab upgrade kit is laser cut out of 3/16th steel plate ensuring tight tolerances and high strength. This kit will require grinding off the old cam tabs and welding these in their place.

Our cam tabs can be used with the OEM round alignment cams but for best results should be paired with our octagonal alignment cams. With these 2 options you should never pop out of alignment from slipping or rotating alignment cams again!

Proper Bolt Shanking
Another key point many other alignment options disregard are properly shanked bolts.

Bolt shanking is critical for ensuring your alignment tab holes do not start to wallow out over the years. Under shear load (see the illustration), the bolt experiences force perpendicular to its axis. Bolts with proper shanking will provide tighter tolerances and with the absence of these stress concentration points will increase the bolt's performance and lifespan.

All bolts offered in our kit are properly shanked for a precise, tight, and long lasting fit.

(I've reached my 8 image max! I'll continue in another post)

Holding it all Together
Many similar kits use a nylock nut to hold everything together. As you may know there is not a ton of room between your alignment cams and expensive steering rack. Nylocks perform fine however they are thick and only one-time use items. Any time you remove your nylcok nut you should replace it. For these reasons we opted to go with Stover nuts.

Stover lock nuts are a one piece, all-metal prevailing torque hex nut with a conical top and a flat bottom bearing surface with chamfered corners (great for reducing damage to steering racks when installing). The locking action, created by distortion of their top threads, is said to be capable of withstanding severe vibration and shock loads. The physical size is also smaller than that of a nylock so you will have clearance between the nut and your steering rack.

Any kit using a nylock will not properly fit between the LCA mount and the steering rack. Probably the greatest benefit of the smaller Stover nut is that will be able to flip the LCA bolt around, making it possible to remove your LCA’s without unbolting your steering rack!

Alignment
If tire life is a concern for you then you will be very pleased to know that our kit will align your truck well within the factory specifications! Being within factory spec ensures you will stay on the road and get longer life out of your tires and suspension!

Longevity
I drove around on 37's with this kit. I never had a single issue with bumping out of alignment and if I wasn't SASing I would be running it forever! Of all the suspension components in my truck, this was the most solid and reliable haha. I also wouldn't be surprised if you know someone rocking our kit. We have been pretty fortunate this year and have sold way more kits than we could have hoped for!

I'll throw this in here as well. We have an install video:

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and have a good one!
-Josh

I wasn't gonna ask if the solution was SAS but you clearly beat me to it
Very cool! I like the extra positioning over the regular squares, pretty clever

On 37's the alignment kit held up great but the steering rack, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. just weren't having it, so SAS it is for me...

Thanks!
