JBA's are ordered. I REALLY hope I don't get stuck with way too much caster... It's like PTSD from the taco days lol

Does anyone know if I can use the pressed in adapter that the SPC's come with or nay?

You shouldn't have 6* of caster after an alignment. I doubt you can get that much with the JBA Arms, unless you're at stock height and someone who doesn't care about the alignment does the work. ;)

And, you'll probably need to use the adapter slug from JBA with the new Ball Joints that come with the arms.

With the high caster arms, you can restore your Caster angles to stock. It's recommended to run 3.5* of Caster by JBA. My Cams are adjusted thusly:

Rear Cams are all the way out. This widens the track, moves the wheel forward in the wheel well and sets the Caster angle.

Front Cams are in or very near the Neutral position. This sets the Camber angle.

Camber and Toe are set to stock numbers.

which bushing type did your SPC UCA had?
I have the previous one, the SpecRide bushings and still doing ok after 22,200 miles. Although I'm thinking of upgrading to the X-axis bushings.

There was excessive movement in the SPC UBJ after almost 16,000 miles of city driving. Replaced them with the greasable version and after 6200 miles still doing good, except for the grease fitting spitting a little grease. will try to replace them this weekend with a Toyota grease fitting.

I just replaced both ball joints in the SPC arms as they both had play out of spec. That was maybe a month or two ago, and now the right side arm's bushings have failed...Seriously? Is this normal for these arms within 2 years of very light use? This just seems ridiculous to me.

Anyway, I'm kind of fed up with them at this point and just want to get something else. Honestly I don't even really know if I truly need the extra adjustment, I'm sure something within stock geometry would probably be fine for my lil' lift. At 1.5 but I might go up to 2".

I don't really think that I need a uniball, a regular ball joint would be fine.

TL;DR
What upper arms are you guys buying these days?

As far as I am aware mine have the X-axis bushings. And yeah one of my upper ball joints all them also had too much play and pretty much less than 2 years I believe. The first set of ball joints I had day one were immediately just leaking grease all over the place. The new ones don't do that, and I mean trust me I am increasing them and stuff... But it definitely seems like something was wrong with the first pair.

I'm hoping that the jba arms solve the issues so I can get back to focusing on other items. Like bearings...lol

Thinking about it more... Is there any manufacturer who we might could reach out to see to if they could create an new adjustable arm? Hell maybe JBA could make one!

Have a shop machine slots in the 4 mounting holes in a +/- direction that will impact caster. Now it's adjustable!

Hmm, y'all have me a bit concerned. I have a set of the SPC UCAs in a box waiting to be installed and it's probably too late to return them for a refund.

Those who have issues with them, are you doing any serious offroading with them?

Keep us updated on how they are.
I’m planning on doing a lift and bumpers on my 2001 and I’m trying to decide on what UCAs to run. I’m new to all of this so I feel really lost.
Any chance anyone here running 6112/5160?

@octanejunkie has a set and he wheels his truck. Maybe he can give some perspective.

Will do, on schedule for next Thursday. All of my tools are packed up right now prepping for a move so I'm at the shop's mercy for this one.

I've had mine for like 5 years and probably 65-70k highway miles. I found a railroad crossing on a back road behind my office that I regularly jump. I've done some pretty stupid things with them in the dirt and they've held up great. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat based on my experience.

Mine are the older tubular style, for what it's worth.
